Modern Era
In this modern era, there are a lot of people having trouble dealing with procrastination. I’m one of them. We read so many articles, videos, and books about how to deal with procrastination but failed to deal with it in the end.
We have planned many times but never achieved what we wanted to accomplish. We have talked about our plans with our friends, family, and other people but failed to achieve the goals you just mentioned.
It’s so easy to procrastinate in today’s world. We have smartphones, YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok, video games, etc. They are all our time killers.
Bad Benefits
They helped us deal with boredom. Without controlling them entirely, we became controlled by them. We tend to choose social media over working on our goals. We are having a hard time focusing because of the notifications on our smartphones and social media.
People eventually fail and blame themselves for their failures. Sometimes they blame other people or social media. We blame our situation, but the reality is that we are the ones who choose to procrastinate.
If you think that the problem is on the outside, your thinking is the problem.

Not entirely true, because there are a lot of people who still use social media and play video games, but they can deal with their procrastination pretty easily.
Then what’s the main problem with our procrastination?
There’s no main problem with procrastination. It’s actually a factor of what you have done in the past. You are the product of what you have done in the past.
So, if you are dealing with procrastination, that could probably be caused by your actions in the past. You may love to play social media but are now having trouble figuring out how to deal with procrastination.
Just like me, you need to deal with procrastination every day to achieve your goals. It’s not that I don’t want to do it, but it’s just a lot of steps to really achieve what I want to achieve.

3 Questions
- Am I making unrealistic goals?
If the answer is yes, you might want to make smaller goals that could bring you closer to those goals. What I mean by unrealistic goals is that you want to make a multimillion-dollar business in one year. It’s very hard and requires a lot of work. Even if it’s possible, remember to not underestimate what you can achieve in five years and overestimate what you can achieve in one year.
- Am I afraid that I can’t achieve my goals?
This could be because you are not prepared enough. Start by learning and preparing yourself with what you need to achieve your goals. For example, if you want to start publishing a book, start by learning how to find a publisher, how to make good drafts, and how to proofread. If you can manage to accomplish your learning steps, you will be much more confident in your ability to achieve your goals. Unpreparedness could be the main reason you are afraid of something. Prepare what you can, and let God do the rest.
- Do I have bad habits that make me procrastinate a lot?
Bad habits that make you procrastinate could be social media, video games, smoking, masturbation, and pornography. Why does smoking make me procrastinate? Well, dopamine, of course. The more deficient we are, the more willpower we need to deal with our goals and obstacles. Learn how to deal with them, and in the future, it will be much easier to deal with procrastination. The Harsh Truth
The truth is that we can’t remove procrastination. It’s normal to procrastinate. Even David Goggins procrastinates for about 30 minutes before going to run in the morning (source: Joe Rogan podcast with David Goggins).
So, if David Goggins procrastinates, don’t beat yourself up if you procrastinate sometimes. It’s okay to procrastinate once, but remember to always strive to be better in the future. Don’t tolerate yourself with your bad habits. Always strive to be a better person.

What will the future be if I deal with procrastination?
You will achieve your goals. You will help a lot of people through your work. The more work you finish, the more freedom you will have. You will begin to feel confident in yourself. You will be striving for harder goals. You will begin to feel confident about achieving your dreams.
Nothing is perfect, and you will eventually fail sometimes, but you have made progress, so why bother with the failures? Learn from them and strive to be better in the future. If you can help yourself to be a better person, you can help other people too in the future. Start small if you need to, and don’t compare yourself to others.
Conclusion
We all procrastinate sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we are not normal. All people procrastinate, and it’s not wrong sometimes. Dealing with procrastination can help you achieve your goals and dreams. You might fail to deal with it, but it will help you become a stronger person to deal with procrastination in the future. Always compare yourself to who you were yesterday and strive to be better!
