You Know Your Own Purpose!

Purpose is an important thing today that a lot of us are searching for. We try to find our purpose, such as passion, ambition, and other things that really make us feel the best of ourselves when achieving something.

We try to figure out the key to the most pleasurable life, and only we are born for that. We thought that we were born for something that only we could choose.

We try to define our own purpose sometimes, and I can see that a lot of people, especially me, become confused and do not find our own purpose.

I was trying to become the best at something, but I didn’t even know what that something was. We tried to seek and try a lot of things but eventually failed to find the “right” purpose.

So, why do we try to define our own purpose?

We try to define our own purpose because a lot of times we see it on social media and in other areas. That purpose is what we are passionate about. “I live to become..." We always try to define our own purpose by looking at past moments and trying to reconnect the dots to find the answer.

The question that we still don’t know,

What is our purpose?

Trials and errors and trying a bunch of things until we find the purpose or the key to our life are not really that helpful, sometimes. Not a lot of people love to try and then fail all the time.

Sometimes, there are people who really want the answer without a bunch of trial and error and just want to pursue it (considering how much time they have).

The problem is that we never knew when we had our “real purpose”. We are confused by our own perception that purpose is the key to life.

If we don’t have that, that means we are failing to live life maximally, and we are wasting our time on jobs or work that is not “meant to be” for us. So, that’s why we got stuck on the question, What is my purpose?

“Happiness is not something you find, but rather something you create.”

–Zig Ziglar

Finding the purpose of “happiness” not only makes you suffer but also wastes your time while you try to seek something for which you know the answer is inside of you.

The same is true for purpose. We all have our own purpose, but the answer lies within our own hearts.

Purposes could change over time

Your purpose, my purpose, and other people’s purpose can be changed. We are human beings that have continually changed. Someone who is 20 years old could change in their 30s.

We never knew what could happen that would make him or her change into something that we couldn’t imagine.

So, how does God help us find our own purpose?

God will always be with us, and we could find our own purpose just by asking him. The answer could vary for most people, but I’m going to tell you my experience on how I find my “real purpose,” because I could be wrong.

I have struggled to find my purpose since I was in high school. I try to find my “passion” most of the time. I tried a bunch of things and eventually became stressed because of it.

I don’t like to seek things out and try different things in order to find their real purpose because I want to execute them as soon as I can. I had FOMO, or fear of missing out. I want to succeed before my 30s.

Over time, I found myself living in the future. I am waiting for the answer to that question, which is “When I find my purpose in the future, I will be happy”. I read a bunch of books about passion and purpose but still didn’t find any of them.

After a while of watching a lot of motivational videos, self-improvement videos, and science videos about purpose, I finally “got it”. The purpose that I am supposed to focus on is “serving other people in an area that I love to do”.

So, the thing that I love to do for now is write. Which is not that easy for me because writing needs focus, discipline, and consistency.

Knowing that my old habits are playing games and watching a bunch of 18+ stuff, it has become a challenge for me to change into writing. Even so, from the experience that I had, I know what I can focus on for now.

Then how do I use my experience to answer yours?

Well, to implement it and answer our big question, which is what my purpose is,

Try to do things in your life, which is what you have right now, fully.

I still don’t know what my real purpose is because what I thought was right might be wrong too, but at least I’m trying to do my daily life fully. Help other people with what I can do.

Doing things that I love or don’t love fully. Throw the trash out, wash the dishes, clean my room, and do other things like that. It is a small daily thing, but it is important in our lives.

If we continue to do those things, eventually, our lives will become much better.

Well, I know about that. I want to execute on a particular activity!

If you want a particular activity, such as writing, sports, or maybe entertaining other people, which is sometimes called passion, maybe you can try to reset yourself. These tips might help you find those:

Go to a lake or natural place that could make you detach from your routine work.

Dopamine detox, so you are not deluded by bad dopamines or comparisons from social media. (Wiping out your window to see more clearly)

Ask yourself in your own bedroom when you are alone, “What could I fix in my life that could make my life better?”

Doing those three things might help you find your own passion or your “real purpose”.

Conclusion

We were deluded to find our own real purpose and failed to live in the present moment. The purpose actually lies within ourselves and in our own daily lives.

Make the most of where you are by doing things with what you have. Become grateful for it and do things for a good purpose. Eventually, you will find your own purpose that God has set for you!

“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
